Cereals lowers Hypertension


Starting the day with healthy breakfast that includes whole grain cereal may significantly reduce the risk of developing Hypertension as per the findings of new research recently presented at a meeting of the American Heart Association in Atlanta, Georgia. Hypertension is caused due to lifestyle changes including lack of exercise, over intake of sodium in form of salt, obesity and stress etc. High blood pressure increases the risk for heart disease and stroke and other vascular diseases.

According to this new healthy news, cereal is commonly served without added saturated fats, it could be a healthier sorce of whole grain than bread and other fare. In addition, other ingredients frequently added to cereal, such as fruit, raisins, and nuts, contain fiber and potassium that can also help to reduce blood pressure. The researchers pointed out that although regular consumption of whole grain cereal alone can’’t bring down the increased blood pressure, it’s a simple way to promote the prevention of hypertension. So along with other healthy lifestyles, such as less salt intake and more physical activity, getting whole grain from this readily available source can cut down the risk of developing chronic hypertension.
