Exclusive Varma treatment wing at Siddha Hospital, Tiruchi
An exclusive wing for varma system of medicine was opened on Tuesday at the Siddha Headquarters Hospital on the premises of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi. The wing will offer varma therapy to patients from 7.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon and between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. District Collector K. Rajmani inaugurated the new facility in the presence of Dean (In-Charge) of the Hospital G. Anitha and District Siddha Medical Officer S. Kamaraj. On the first day, 15 patients were given varma treatment, an external touch therapy given by siddha, ayurveda, yoga and homeopathy experts, Dr. Kamaraj said.
Since the varma system of medicine is an external touch therapy, patients taking allopathy treatment could also benefit from the new facility to rid themselves completely of their ailments, Dr. Kamaraj said, adding that the varma therapy would be provided to out patients by appointment only.
