Patanjali and Defence Ministry Join Hands to Provide Free AYUSH Treatment to 6 Million Ex-Servicemen

Free treatments under yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy

In a remarkable step towards supporting India’s ex-servicemen, the Defence Ministry’s Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) and Patanjali Yogpeeth have signed a historic agreement. Under this new partnership, nearly 6 million ex-servicemen and their families will receive free AYUSH treatment, including yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy therapies, at Patanjali’s healthcare facilities.

This initiative is part of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and aims to offer holistic healthcare solutions without any financial limit on treatments. The announcement was made during a special event at Patanjali University in Haridwar.

What Does This Mean for Ex-Servicemen?

  • Free treatments under yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy.

  • No upper limit on expenses for medical care at Patanjali hospitals.

  • Improved access to wellness therapies aimed at strengthening and healing.

Swami Ramdev, the co-founder of Patanjali, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the brave hearts of the nation. He explained that yoga helps in strengthening the body, Ayurveda in purification, and naturopathy in healing, creating a comprehensive healthcare approach.

To better serve the beneficiaries, Patanjali plans to expand its capacity, allowing up to 5,000 patients to be treated at once. There are also plans to integrate modern medical surgeries alongside traditional therapies for a more well-rounded approach to health.

📌 Words from the Defence Officials

Major General M.P.S. Gill, a decorated officer and key figure in the Uttarakhand Sub-Area, praised the initiative as a milestone for ex-servicemen welfare. He assured that efforts are underway to extend similar benefits to serving soldiers in the near future.

💡 Why Is This Important?

This partnership bridges the gap between conventional and traditional healthcare, bringing together ancient Indian practices and modern medical care. It reflects a growing emphasis on holistic health, ensuring that our veterans and their families lead healthier, happier lives.

📣 Looking Ahead

This collaboration sets a new standard for veteran healthcare in India. By prioritizing wellness alongside treatment, it promises a better quality of life for millions of those who have selflessly served the nation.

Stay tuned for more updates as the scheme rolls out and more veterans benefit from this compassionate healthcare initiative!
