3rd World Siddha Day on the Way

The Third World Siddha Day to be held on 14th and 15th April by the Siddha Doctors Association at A.K.G centre, Trivandrum. As a part of function, cultural programmes pertaining to Siddhars, Siddha way of treatment and present prizes for the best performance are to be organised. Invitation committee, exhibition committee, souvenir release committee, expert art committee and seminar committee have also been formed for the purpose. Dr Stanley Jones (Vice President – CCIM) is the President for 2011, 3rd world Siddha Day celebrations Commitee. Dr A Ramalingam (President – IMPCOPS) will be the organising the committee from TAMIL NADU.

After Tamil Nadu’s Current Chief Minister Dr. Kalaigar Karunanidhi’s Announcement of Tamil New Year’s Day as World Siddha Day, the First World Siddha Day was celebrated on 14 April 2009, addressed by his Excellency Shri Surjit Singh Barnala, Governor of Tamil Nadu. The 2nd World Siddha Day was celebrated in a grand manner last year 14 April 2010, at Image Auditorium, Adyar, Chennai. More than 2000 students, post graduates, practitioners and traditional vaidyas participated in the celebration. Lets hope that this year also the function becomes a grand success by the eminent grace of Siddhars.

April 14 is very important for Kerala and Tamil Nadu as it is the New year for both the states. Dr B.R Ambedkar was also born on the same day.
