From Tradition to Technology: Ayush Republic Day Tableau Showcases India’s Holistic Health Vision

Ayush is emerging as a key pillar of India’s public health

India’s timeless wisdom of healing will take centre stage at the Republic Day Parade as the Ministry of Ayush presents a visually striking tableau themed “From Tradition to Technology”, offering a powerful narrative of the nation’s holistic approach to health and well-being.

Rolling down Kartavya Path, the Ayush tableau reflects India’s journey from its ancient medical heritage to a future shaped by science, research, and digital innovation. It highlights how traditional systems such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Sowa-Rigpa are being seamlessly integrated into modern healthcare frameworks to address contemporary health challenges.

At the heart of the tableau are sculptural representations of legendary sages Acharya Charak, Acharya Patanjali, and Acharya Agastya, set against a lush display of medicinal plants. This imagery symbolises the deep-rooted knowledge systems that have guided India’s understanding of health as a balance between body, mind, and nature for thousands of years.

What makes this year’s Ayush tableau distinctive is its emphasis on technology-driven wellness. Alongside traditional healing practices, the display showcases the growing role of digital health platforms, wellness applications, and technology-enabled outreach programmes under the National Ayush Mission. These elements underline the government’s focus on preventive healthcare, accessibility, and community participation through modern tools.

The tableau also features scenes depicting yoga practices, preventive care models, and institutional education, including a representation of an Ayurveda medical college. Together, these visuals communicate the evolution of Ayush from individual practice to a structured, research-oriented, and globally relevant healthcare system.

Officials describe the tableau as a reflection of India’s vision to position holistic health at the core of national development. By blending ancient knowledge with scientific validation and digital innovation, Ayush is emerging as a key pillar of India’s public health strategy and a contributor to global wellness discourse.

As millions watch the Republic Day Parade across the country and the world, the Ayush tableau stands as a reminder that India’s path to the future is firmly rooted in its past—where tradition and technology come together to shape a healthier, more sustainable tomorrow.
