India launches ‘Ayush Nivesh Saarthi’ portal to boost investment in traditional medicine

Digital platform aimed at streamlining and boosting investments in the AYUSH

In a strategic move to position India as a global hub for traditional medicine, the Government of India has launched the ‘Ayush Nivesh Saarthi’ portal, an investor-friendly digital platform aimed at streamlining and boosting investments in the AYUSH sector — Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.

The portal was jointly unveiled by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav during the Ayush Stakeholder and Industry Interaction Meet held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.

“This portal is not just a digital initiative; it’s a gateway for the world to participate in India’s rich heritage of holistic healthcare,” said Minister Goyal during the launch.

A Unified Window for Investors

Developed in collaboration with Invest India, the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal serves as a one-stop interface for both domestic and global investors. It integrates crucial information such as:

  • Investment-ready projects across India

  • Policy frameworks and incentive schemes

  • Sectoral trends and growth forecasts

  • Real-time facilitation and support services

This initiative comes at a time when the Ayush industry is witnessing exponential growth, having expanded at an impressive 17% CAGR between 2014 and 2020. The sector currently contributes significantly to India’s $13 billion medical value travel market.

100% FDI in AYUSH Sector

In a move that signals India’s open-door policy, the government has allowed 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Ayush sector under the automatic route. This paves the way for international partnerships in manufacturing, research, wellness tourism, and health-tech innovation.

“India is ready to lead the world in traditional and integrative medicine. The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal will empower startups, support entrepreneurs, and attract serious investors,” said Ayush Minister Jadhav.

A Boost for ‘Heal in India’

Aligned with the government’s ‘Heal in India’ vision, the portal is expected to:

  • Attract foreign capital into Ayush clusters

  • Create employment in rural and semi-urban areas

  • Promote research and development in classical medicine systems

  • Position India as a trusted destination for holistic wellness
