A three-day national conference titled “Contribution of Medical Technology in Indian Traditional Medicine and Modern Medicine” commenced on Thursday at SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur. The event aims to explore how technological advancements are influencing both traditional and modern healthcare systems.
Organized by SASTRA in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and funded under AICTE’s VAANI 2025-26 scheme, the conference brings together experts to discuss the integration of medical technology into various medical disciplines.
Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, Director and Indo-Japan G20 Chair Professor at SASTRA, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing how medical technology enhances the reach and effectiveness of Indian traditional systems as well as modern medicine. Other speakers included K.S. Rajan, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical and Biotechnology, and Dean of the School of Arts, Science, and Humanities.
