Over 30,000 Organisations Join ‘Yoga Sangam’ Movement Ahead of International Day of Yoga: Ayush Ministry

Yoga for One Earth, One Health

n a massive show of public participation and growing enthusiasm for wellness, over 30,000 organisations across India have registered for Yoga Sangam 2025, the Ministry of Ayush announced this week. This nationwide movement is part of the build-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), to be celebrated on June 21.

From Himalayan Villages to Corporate Corridors

Yoga Sangam 2025 is shaping up to be one of the largest coordinated yoga events ever organized. Schools, colleges, housing societies, private companies, non-governmental organisations, and even defence units are among the diverse participants preparing to roll out their yoga mats.

“We are witnessing an incredible response from every corner of the country,” said an official from the Ministry of Ayush. “The scale of participation this year reflects how yoga has truly become a people’s movement.”

Digital Tools for a Digital India

To ensure smooth coordination and greater transparency, the Ministry has launched a dedicated Yoga Sangam portal (YOGA AYUSH). Organisations can register their planned events, upload details of their sessions post-June 21, and receive Certificates of Appreciation from the Ministry.

“This digital initiative not only streamlines the process but also ensures wide documentation of India’s growing yoga culture,” the official added.

Theme of 2025: Yoga for One Earth, One Health

The theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” resonates strongly with current global concerns. It underlines the interconnectedness of personal health, community well-being, and environmental sustainability.

“Yoga is not just an exercise routine; it’s a philosophy that teaches harmony with nature and self,” said Dr. Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. “This year’s theme reminds us that personal health cannot be isolated from the health of the planet.”

Mass Yoga Sessions on June 21

The grand culmination of Yoga Sangam will take place on June 21, with mass yoga sessions planned at over one lakh locations nationwide. From the snow-capped peaks of Uttarakhand to the beaches of Tamil Nadu, India will transform into a vast open-air yoga studio.

In addition to traditional yoga asanas, several events will include meditation, breathwork (pranayama), and lectures on mental wellness. Cultural performances and yoga demonstrations by school children and paramilitary personnel are also planned in several states.

Global Spotlight on India’s Ancient Gift

With the continued support of the United Nations and increasing global interest in wellness and preventive health, India’s leadership in the yoga movement is receiving international recognition.

“India has successfully mainstreamed yoga not just within its own borders but across the world,” said an international delegate who will be attending the Delhi celebrations.

How You Can Join Yoga Sangam 2025

Any organisation—public or private—can register to participate at YOGA AYUSH. After conducting a yoga session on June 21, participants can upload photographs and basic event details to receive an official certificate from the Ministry of Ayush.

With Yoga Sangam 2025, India is not just promoting a practice—it is nurturing a healthier, more mindful society, reminding the world of its ancient wisdom in the pursuit of modern well-being.
