The Delhi government has announced plans to introduce a mobile unit to promote Ayurveda and extend its healthcare services to a wider population. Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh shared the details during the 19th Governing Council meeting of the Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan (CBPACS) in Najafgarh.

The new mobile unit aims to increase public awareness about Ayurvedic treatments and make traditional wellness therapies more accessible, especially in underserved areas. Minister Singh emphasized that this initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to integrate holistic healthcare solutions into everyday life and encourage preventive care.

Focus on Mental Well-being and Research

In addition to the mobile unit, the government plans to set up an International Wellness Center at CBPACS, which will address mental health concerns such as stress and anxiety through Ayurvedic methods. This is seen as a step toward promoting holistic health practices in response to modern-day lifestyle challenges.

The government is also pushing for research collaborations and is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with national and international organizations to enhance Ayurvedic medical research and innovation. The goal is to strengthen scientific approaches while preserving traditional knowledge systems.

Healthcare Expansion in Delhi

This initiative follows the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services in the city. Earlier this year, Delhi saw the inauguration of 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which are providing affordable healthcare services to communities across the capital.

Minister Singh expressed confidence that the mobile unit would bring Ayurvedic care closer to the people and help foster a deeper understanding of traditional medicine’s role in overall health.

Looking Ahead

With increasing lifestyle-related health issues, the Delhi government’s move to popularise Ayurveda through mobile outreach and mental wellness programs reflects a shift towards integrated and community-based healthcare solutions. The project is expected to not only provide treatments but also educate citizens on the benefits of preventive care and holistic health.

For further developments, updates on the mobile unit’s deployment and research collaborations will be shared by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Delhi.
