India’s Ancient Wellness Traditions Shine at Osaka Expo, Courtesy of Ayush Ministry

India’s age-old wellness wisdom is making waves far from home — this time, in the heart of Japan

At the Osaka Expo 2025, the Ministry of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) has curated a vibrant and immersive pavilion, showcasing the country’s rich legacy of holistic health systems. From yoga demonstrations to herbal displays, the India Pavilion has become a hub for curious international visitors seeking alternative, sustainable approaches to health and wellness.

We are not just presenting ancient practices — we are offering living traditions that continue to heal millions today, said an official from the Ayush Ministry.

The Ayush pavilion highlights India’s traditional medicinal systems — Ayurveda’s herbal remedies, Siddha’s pressure-point therapies, Unani’s humoral balance, Homeopathy’s individualized care, and Naturopathy’s back-to-nature healing. Interactive zones, therapeutic product showcases, and wellness consultations are drawing large crowds daily.

One of the most appreciated sessions is the daily yoga and pranayama class, where participants from across the globe are seen stretching, breathing, and meditating under the guidance of certified Indian instructors.

Visitors can also experience live demos of Ayurvedic massages, taste herbal teas, and learn about ingredients like ashwagandha, neem, tulsi, and turmeric, which have found global acclaim for their healing properties.

The event is part of India’s larger cultural diplomacy push, projecting the country not just as a tech and talent powerhouse — but as a global wellness destination.

Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Union Minister of State for Ayush, emphasized the global relevance of India’s wellness systems.
In a post-pandemic world, people are looking for preventive, sustainable, and personalized healthcare. Ayush systems offer exactly that — rooted in nature and backed by centuries of practice.”

As the Osaka Expo continues through the year, India’s wellness traditions are clearly leaving a strong impression — one mindful breath and herbal sip at a time.
