Ayurveda – The Double Helix of Life: Docu-Film Set to Debut on June 11, Exploring Ancient Wisdom Through Modern Science
Evolution in Ayurvedic manufacturing—from classical decoctions to user-friendly formulations

A groundbreaking documentary titled “Ayurveda – The Double Helix of Life” is all set to premiere on June 11 at the Film Division Theatre in New Delhi, promising to bridge the gap between ancient Indian medical wisdom and contemporary science.
Directed by Vinod Mankara, a National Award-winning filmmaker known for his work in socially conscious cinema, the 90-minute English-language film dives deep into the world of Ayurveda—not just as a traditional system, but as a scientifically relevant and evolving branch of medicine.
Produced by Dr. A.V. Anoop under the banner of AVA Productions, the film is supported by the Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India (AMMOI). The initiative aims to shed light on how Ayurveda is being adapted and validated in modern clinical contexts, tackling the rising tide of misinformation that reduces it to mere folklore.
“We wanted to take Ayurveda out of the shadows of misconception and highlight its scientific relevance in today’s healthcare landscape,” said Vinod Mankara during a pre-release interaction.
Highlights of the Film:
-
Real-life success stories in treating conditions like diabetic neuropathy, renal stones, infertility, and even Parkinson’s disease in Germany.
-
Evolution in Ayurvedic manufacturing—from classical decoctions to user-friendly formulations such as Rejuran and sustained-release wound dressings.
-
Insights from 52 experts including global health professionals, WHO consultants, and clinical researchers, bridging the East-West medical dialogue.
The film is set to be inaugurated by Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for AYUSH, with special guests including Ayush Ministry Secretary Rajesh Kotecha. Following its New Delhi debut, it is expected to tour various global platforms, highlighting India’s role in integrative medicine.
A Global Message
Far from being a nostalgic look at traditional healing, the documentary boldly asserts that Ayurveda is poised to contribute meaningfully to global healthcare challenges—when supported by research, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
As the world looks for sustainable, holistic, and personalized healthcare solutions, “Ayurveda – The Double Helix of Life” arrives not just as a film, but as a movement—inviting audiences to see Ayurveda not just as heritage, but as hope.
