Union Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav Inaugurates Yoga Mahotsav-2025 in New Delhi

A Global Movement Towards Wellness

New Delhi, March 13, 2025 – Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav, inaugurated the Yoga Mahotsav-2025 today in New Delhi. The grand event marks the 100-day countdown to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), set to be observed globally on June 21, 2025.

The inauguration took place at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), where over 1,000 yoga enthusiasts participated in a live demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP). The event aims to spread awareness about the health benefits of yoga and encourage mass participation in the upcoming International Day of Yoga.

A Global Movement Towards Wellness

In his address, Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav emphasized Yoga’s growing significance in daily life, noting that it is now practiced in nearly 8% of Indian households. He attributed this growing trend to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership Yoga has become a global phenomenon.

Yoga is not just a form of exercise but a holistic approach to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. With India’s rich Yoga heritage, we are proud to lead this global health movement,” said the minister.
