Parpatakam – Herbal Remedy for Fever

Plant name : Parpatakam
“A Siddha Medicinal herb to cure fever”.

Botanical name : Oldenlandia corymbosa
Family :  Rubiaceae
Actions : Febrifuge, Diaphoretic, Stomachic, Laxative.

Siddha Medicinal Uses :

  1. The decoction of samoolam can be administered in the conditions like fever, jaundice etc.
  2. Fresh Manjal along with samoolam of this plant can be ground well into karkam and prepared as oil  for skin diseases like ezcema, scabies etc.
  3. As a Uterine tonic and Garpa sudhi action the leaves and stem of this plant is cooked and given as food after delivery.
  4. For Measles, Parpatakam along with Seenthil, Sitramutti, Peramutti, Kanduparangi, Peipudal can be taken as 2 palam each and prepared as decoction and administered twice a day.
